CR Day-Trips

08/13/2011 is just a few weeks away and we are so happy that our closest friends and family will be here to share this special moment with us. Thank you!

We'd like to offer a few insider suggestions of great day-trips which we think are worth-while and representative of Costa Rica:

1) La Paz Waterfall Gardens- Despite the cheesyness of its website, this nature park is worth every penny. You'll have a chance to see the most emblematic Costa Rican mammals, reptiles, birds, butterflies and plants (all of which have been rescued or are in the processed of being rehabilitated into the wild). You can also take a slow-paced, safe hike to some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the country.

2) Sibú Chocolate Tour and/or Private Tasting- This is a super posh, sustainable, organic project...their chocolate with exotic flavor combinations is phenomenal.

3) Espíritu Santo Coffee Tour- This small but truly authentic suatainble rural tourism project is located in Bre's hometown, Naranjo, it benefits small coffee growers from the local coffee co-operative. The best part of this coffee tour is that Nev used to work there giving tours to gringos- on one ocassion he received a $2 tip from a tourist!

4) Britt Coffee Tour- For the full effect of a coffee plantation, this highly developped project is very close to San José and to the airport- it might be a good alternative for those of you who are visiting for just a few days.

Can't wait to see you!
